Yesterday we talked about the Five Pitfalls to avoid when shopping for craft supplies.
But did you know there is a Sixth Pitfall?
It’s true. I was saving it for today as a special treat for my loyal blog readers.
Pitfall #6. Not knowing the store’s return policy.
They say that knowledge is power. And you can be giddy with power. So if you know the Store’s return policy, you may have yourself a giggle. Or maybe not.
If you are making a purchase, particularly if it is a large purchase, you would be advised to ask about the establishment’s return policy.
You may be surprised to know that return policies vary greatly from store to store. This is true with local stores, big box stores, or online stores.
A rigid return policy has made me take pause before. And I never intend to bring anything back. Never.
But when I bought my letterpress from a Big Box, there were parts missing. Important parts. And despite a clearly explained written return policy, it was a huge pain to exchange it. HUGE!
My point is, things happen. That is life. You just might have to return your beloved purchase. Or at best, exchange it.
It just helps to know what you are getting going in.
So before you make that crafty tool purchase, ask about the return policy. Better yet, get it in writing.
